I met Anne several years ago at a mutual place of employment where we often spent several (long) overnight shifts together at an emergency animal hospital. She was one of my mentors there; teaching me how to survive working in such an emotionally and physically exhausting profession where people routinely berated us for ‘only being in it for the money’.  This of course was never true, and I learned through Anne that having a love for animals and saving their lives would help me persevere.
She really does have a huge heart—rescuing and fostering countless animals, volunteering, and now raising a family of her own. You may recognize Anne and Chris from a maternity shoot I did last year for them. I was honoured when they asked me to photograph their family again with their super adorable daughter, Madeleine, who was celebrating her first birthday! Crazy how fast time flies, isn’t it?

We decided to meet at Nickel Beach in Port Colborne for the photos. The lighting was beautiful there and despite the heat there was quite a breeze out by the lake! Here are a few photos from our little shoot. Thanks again Anne and Chris!
