When you have children, birthdays are always an important milestone to celebrate and what better way to remember them, than having a family session? I remember thinking to myself how much I wished I had photos like this with my parents and grandparents, but photographers and technology was not as accessible when I was growing up. (That makes me feel way too old!) That’s why I am so lucky to create those memories for others and encourage people to document their lives.
I still remember how little Madeleine was when I did her first birthday session. We went to Nickel Beach and battled the wind to get some adorable shots of her with her parents. This time, I had the pleasure of meeting both sides of her family and photographed Chris’ side at Port Dalhousie in the previous blog and then Anne’s side at one of my favourite Welland parks. It was a beautiful evening for their session and good fun!
We all had to work fast, as two years old is a very busy and active time as a kid. I wish I had half as much energy! It made for some great candid moments, running with Maddy throughout Chippawa Park and looking at the all of the ducks in the pond. You can really tell she loves animals as her eyes just light right up!
Here are some of my favourite shots from this wonderful evening.
