“Before you get a dog, you can’t quite imagine what living with one might be like; afterward, you can’t imagine living any other way.” – Caroline Knapp
For most people, pets are a big part of our lives and not just in the mass amount of hair we wear around all day. They are our protectors and our emotional support—there is nothing purer than bursting out into laughter after a particularly bad day when they do something hilarious. Our pets are important but unfortunately do not share the same long lifespan as us, as much as we wish that they do. So, cherish every moment, include them in your family photographs and make memories with the little furry creatures that have touched your heart.
In March I drove down to Niagara Falls to spend some time with Dana and her little family. I’ve known her and Benny (affectionately nick-named Bean) for several years; we spent many long and stressful shifts working together at the local animal emergency clinic! It was so wonderful to visit with them and create some beautiful photographs that day.
Here are a few of my favourites from their late-winter session!
